PEMBELAJARAN LAJU REAKSI BERBASIS PRAKTIKUM: SEBUAH STUDI PENGARUH TERHADAP KETERAMPILAN PROSES SAINS
Abstract
Practicums are an important part of the chemistry learning process. Practicum implementation can train and develop students' science process skills in testing chemical theories and concepts. Students' low science process skills cause difficulties in understanding practical work procedures, processing data, and concluding experimental results. This research aims to determine the effect of implementing reaction rate practicum on students' chemical science process skills. This research uses a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental methodsnonequivalent control group design. The research sample involved 35 class XI-MIPA 1 students in the experimental class and 35 class XI-MIPA 3 students in the control class at MAN 3 Aceh Barat Daya. Research data collection used observation sheet instruments to measure science process skills and multiple choice tests to measure the influence of practicum on science process skills. The research results showed that students in the experimental class had better science process skills than the control class. Students in the experimental class have excellent observation skills, good classification skills, asking questions and hypothesizing. However, they have sufficient skills in interpreting and communicating. The results of the research hypothesis test obtained the value of thitung2,67 > ttabel 1.65 at a significance level of 0.05. These findings indicate that the implementation of practicum has a significant effect on students' science process skills in learning reaction rates. Score effect size obtained of 0.18. Thus, practicum-based reaction rate learning is stated to have quite an influence on students' science process skills. It is hoped that the results of this research can help educators in designing and implementing practicum-based strategies, models, approaches and learning media to improve students' science process skills in chemistry learning.
